About Nitro Snowboards
Nitro is one of the few big snowboarding companies that does nothing else, they focus purely on snowboarding and it shows in their products. They were founded in Seattle way back in 1990, and have been at the bleeding edge ever since, pioneering things like the orginal asymmetric twin tip (I so remember those), progressive sidecuts, and they were also the first snowboarding company to do a dedicated womens pro model (my friend was New Zealands first female snowboarding olympian and she was orginally sponsored by Nitro too, nice one).
Nitro Snowboards are manufactured in Europe and distributed around the world. For some reason I orginally thought they were European based, perhaps because they have such a strong European pro-team featuring riders like Tobias Strauss, Gian Luca and Rube Goldberg. These guys are amongst the most progressive professional snowboarders in the world and they provide loads of input into the development of all Nitro Snowboards.
Nitro's line up of Pro models for 2010/2011 includes Bryan Fox, Austin Smith, Jon Kooley, Markus Keller, Eero Ettala in the men's team and Cheryl Maas on the women's team.
