Lustworthy

Dude, I am so getting me an iPhone when they finally make it to Asia (apparently sometime in 2008). Surely it will be possible to buy an unlocked version.

  1. I KNOW! I’ve never felt this way about a gizmo!

But honestly it will be a long time before I buy a apple handheld device with harddrive and batter. They’ve just not been sturdy enough to make it much past warranty.

Also, I’m so bummed AppleTV only streams from iTunes. That one aspect changed it from a must buy to a never will buy. I’m sure they claim it’s because they can’t ensure the video quality from other formats, but I am done being locked into buying media via one form of locked software. And I want to watch internet video on my TV, not just what iTunes can offer.

End of rant. I do truly love that iPhone

Yeah, it’s a funny thing…it is super sexy in that Apple way, with true innovation around the UI, and strategically it seems like a pretty sweet move using the touch screen as input so making it possible to innovate even more on UI without being dependant on physical input devices…

But, having got over the initial OMG moment I’m not so disappointed to have to wait for it a bit, if only to see how it goes Stateside before making it to Asia. Not just in terms of the drive and battery issues, but also for the same reasons you’re doubtful about Apple TV…I don’t want to be locked into iTunes or any proprietary media formats on my phone either.

It’s gonna be interesting to see what kind of innovation this spurs in some of those media agnostic device makers like HTC, Panasonic and Samsung, aswell as the big handset makers.

    Bring it on.

Did that sound like I had decided I didn’t want one? I hope not, cause I still think it is sex on wheels, I just hope it doesn’t suck on those other dimensions.
