I am not sure I get this… 

I have just been given a sneek preview of a new Facebook IM client that is going into beta this Friday. What I like about this Facebook app is there is nothing to download or install, no registration and best of all, all of your friends in Facebook can use it instantly.

Doesn’t everyone already use one or another flavor of IM…why would a Facebook IM be so compelling? For me Facebook is an asynchronous social network, and if I really want asyncronous IM I’ll use Twitter already.

The beauty of IM is it’s that it is real time (synchronous) and for that I’ve already got a network built around Trellian (with various aggregated IM handles) and Skype.
