Caffe L’affare sells for $25m

This story about the sale of Caffe L’affare is brilliant:

In a deal that has been brewing for several months, the 120-seat cafe and its coffee roasting operation will change hands.

The company was set up by restaurateur Jeff Kennedy in 1990. He sold 40 per cent of it to partner Bridget Dunn and Tony Kerridge two years later. The trio will remain with the company to oversee the New Zealand operation, with all 62 staff to be retained.

Back in early nineties I worked my way through university behind the bar in various establishments around Wellington, twice working for Bridget Dunn who is one of the best operators in the hospitality business ever! And a really nice lady to boot, so I am super stoked that this has worked out so well for Bridget and all involved. Nice.
