Actually it was Thursday which really made it.
I’m a bit late posting this, but we had a bit of a win on Thursday night at the NetGuide People’s Choice Web Awards. This is pretty much the top honour for New Zealand web sites (being a public vote and all), and we won the 2006 award for New Zealand’s best travel site, sweet.
Kudos to the team who’ve been working hard on the site for the past 12 months, including (but not limited to) Hilary, TimR, TimP, Jane, Debbie (and the customer center team), uber consultant Duncan, and Netconcepts.
We won this against bigger competitors like Air New Zealand and Zuji, so we’re rightly proud of the achievement. It does mean through that these guys will be going all out for 2007, so our work is cut out for us…bring it on.

Hey thanx Charles for the acknowledgement. It was a great night and utterly impressive to see how far HoT has made it online in just over a year!
And what makes your victory even more impressive is knowing you did pretty much zero promotion to encourage votes… The public simply made their choice!
