You have to hand it to Jason Calacanis and Co. It’s not like there are any barriers to entry in this sort of game…they’ve just executed better than most. And with that in mind, my favorite line from his ‘what’s next?’ post:
Mark Cuban (who’s the best investor you could ever have btw) always said “let’s not drown in opportunity” when he, my partner Brian and I would talk about the business.
To me that speaks volumes about the way they’ve focussed hard on the basics. I suspect this is one of the reasons we havn’t heard much about Blogsmith, WIN’s proprietry blogging platform…and indeed why that was set up as a separate entity with a separate CEO etc.
