Russell Brown’s Hard News
I really like Russell Brown’s Hard News. Russell Brown is “New Zealand’s best known blogger” blogging on just about every topic you can imagine, but especially local politics, culture, arts, and music…and for those who don’t live in New Zealand, his blog is about the best place to go if you really want some insight into the national pysche.
Having said all that there’s two things I’d love to see from Russell Brown:
- Real comments…I don’t think it is really a blog without ‘em, and I am sure comments would add a lot to the dialogue on his site especially.
- He should do a podcast. The highlight of my radio listening week used to be the weekly Hard News wrap up on bFM. He’s a natural born podcaster and I am certain he’d find a massive audience if he started this up again. I suspect it is a matter of time and effort (it would take a while to prepare I am sure), but it sure would be cool. Actually, if anyone knows where I can get mp3’s of his old shows I’d be interested in hosting a podcast feed for them for prosperity.
Reading Hard News reminds me why I am really happy to be back home downunder. NZ is a tiny little country at the bottom of the world without lots of the benefits of proximity, but it is a coolio little place.
