I want my DTV

When the heck are free to air television stations in New Zealand going to start broadcasting digital signals (to everyone)?

Having experienced terrestrial digital in Australia I got a hankering for it…especially seeing as I have this coolio Topfield digital receiver/PVR sitting there doing nothing right now. I futz’d around for ages trying to get the thing set up (even updated the firmware), before I realized there simply wasn’t a signal to be had…

There’s been lots of talk but not much action so far.

    Hey Shane,

Thanks for your comment. Do you know if there is a comprehensive digital broadcast signal across Auckland?

I ask because I mucked around for ages trying to get the damn thing to work. I was able to get a signal for atleast 3 stations while in Pakuranga (in-laws place), but when using the machine at home in Kohi I couldn’t get a single signal. Net result I ended up with an analog single tuner HD/DVD recorder rather than using the sweet dual tuner digital box we bought back from Oz (I miss it).
