Don’t know how he knows, but Greg Linden is saying that the recently announced del.icio.us financing includes a veritable whose who of cool internet companies and people.

    Argh, how does something so simple get so many willing investors. I mean it’s great, but has zero proven revenue. I can see getting an investor, but that’s a fricken club of names.

    Weird, that I even care. Not sure how all this has happened ;> Del.icio.us rules.

    Yeah, it’s a nice roster of investors for sure…I suspect (like others have said) that they’ll entertain plenty of acquisition offers regardless of revenue or not, ie. it could be a feature for one of the portals.

    But having said that I reckon there is good revenue potential because del.icio.us commands alot of users attention, and that attention can be monetized…think of all those tags and user generated content…perfect fodder for Adsense, and I’m sure users wouldn’t mind if it was done tastefully. Likewise ads via the massive RSS traffic that del.icio.us serves, totally doable.
