I was putting Flynn to bed, and just before turning out the night light I noticed Evil Jessie looking over us...no wonder Flynn woke up with a start last night...scary stuff.
Can you imagine Dubya joking about not finding the WMD in Iraq now that the damage has been done?..."Bush's Big Joke" (via BB)
Embarrased? Channel 10 you should be bloody ashamed...Because I am ashamed to live in a city where the local media decides it is necessary to run a poll about whether the Lord Major of Melbourne's Singaporean accent is 'embarrasing'.
He's has a distinctive Singaporean accent...what the hell has that got to do with anything! What about the fact he's lived here for 40 years? What about focussing on his public record?
I thought this kind of xenophobic fear mongering was limited to Pauline Hanson.
Shame on you Channel 10. You just lost my respect.
Cool...the blog directory I started, Blogarama, is in the top 10 on the Daypop Top Weblogs list as ranked by citations, and the Top 5 as ranked by the "Daypop Score"...ahead of FARK and even the Drudge Report!
Of course this might say more about the Daypop ranking system than the enduring value of Blogarama, and I know that the nature of Blogarama lends itself to a high ranking (20K + listings and most of them linking back to the site)...but still, that's cool.
...and this is Mt Ruapehu. Jennifer grew up here...at this rate I am not going to need to take another photo again...they're all on Flickr already.
Nice...just been exploring the "newzealand" tag on Flickr and came across this shot of Cape Reinga...the very top of New Zealand where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasman Sea. Nice...makes me want to move home now.
Funny post over at Halley's Comment about why she hates Bed and Breakfast joints.
I have to agree BnBs don't really do it for me either. They always remind me of the housewares store I once passed in a mall in Texas, "Country Clutter"...A housewares store called "Country Clutter"! I suppose it appeals to a certain segment, and doesn't it pretty much summarize the interior decorating style of most BnBs. Why do they have to be like that?
How about..
mediacasting (I like this because it covers it all including video)
narrowcasting (I think this may have been used somewhere before)
demandcasting (ie. on demand broadcasting)
peercasting (I don't know! Just thought it sounded cool)
streamcasting (been used I think)
This is pretty interesting, the Business 2.0 - October 2004 edition is produced online in as close a format as you can imagine to the print edition, complete with special in browser naviagtion controls, which remind me of some sort of eBook reader software I once used. Of course this online edition has the 'advantage' of hyperlinks for advertisements.
I am not sure if I like this or not...I will try it again at home with the bigger (20") monitor...that will aid the experience for sure.
