I really like these wine glasses which we dragged back from Tuscany way back in 1999. They're especially cool because they have the Gallo Nero symbol on the side.

The Gallo Nero (The Black Cockerell) is the symbol of a wine co-operative in Tuscany, and is also our adopted family logo/crest...with a surname name like Coxhead you've got to improvise. So anyway, the wine is also a little better out of these glasses because Jennifer and I got engaged in Florence when we were in Italy, June 1999.

This is silly. I expect it will backfire badly from a marketing point of view (I hope). No one needs something this big, unless your hauling freight coast to coast like BJ & The Bear.

SNAR

I had a very vivid dream last night that I went to see a two man stage show called Sensitive New Age Rockers (SNAR)...It was a tongue in cheek retrospective of all those classic power ballads from the eighties and early nineties. All the usual suspects like Bon Jovi, Poison, Warrant, Skid Row and [insert vanilla stadium rock band with big hair and tight pants] performed live by two guys with guitars, and great costumes. It was meant to be a comedy of sorts, but also very entertaining because the song performances were actually very good.

I reckon Sensitive New Age Rockers would be a great show.

How soon before Flickr gets acquired?

12 September 2004 | 0 Comments

I reckon Flickr will be acquired before the year is out by Yahoo! or Google.

I could be wrong, but if I was an exec at Yahoo! or Google looking for the hotest emerging consumer oriented web services to invest in I'd be all over Flickr.

And the Flickr investment could even be more than that...could be the whole Ludicorp shooting match gets acquired. Remember Flickr is just one web service built on the super dooper engine thingy that Ludicorp have been working on, orginally with the GNE. Acquired by a deep pocketed business and set up as an autonomous product development group, who knows what they could come up with next.

Moleskine Notebooks

Can someone educate me...why all the buzz over Moleskine Notebooks. From what I can tell they are just a notebook...maybe a nice notebook, but I don't get why everyone is so crazy for them.

The rebirth of Cool

Yes...I seem to be stuck on describing everything as 'cool'...I'll try to stop.

This is tres cool. If I was a motocyclist, and had wads to blow on engineered art, this is what I'd ride.

How cool would it be to hang out at O'Reilly's Foo Camp and just marinate in all this cool stuff.

CRUSHPAD

This urban vineyard, CRUSHPAD, seems like kind of a cool idea. I've used one of those brew your own beer places before and that was a great experience, but mostly because you got like 14 doz. beers for next to nothing...I wonder how it translates to the world of wine.

Reminds me of an old friend whose Dad used to make wine at home....out of anything. Arghh, the delightfully crisp after taste of Banana wine, it goes well with...ummm. He even made a batch out of grass clippings once...I don't think it really worked, but he did try it.
